A swarm of Bees attacked devotees after a Beehive collapsed at Arail Ghat in Uttar Pradesh's Prayagraj district on Wednesday, February 19. The incident occurred when the pilgrimage went near Sangam to take a holy dip during Maha Kumbh 2025.

Seeing this, panic among devotees broke out, and bathers were seen rushing out of the Sangam to escape the swarm of bees. Meanwhile, till 10 am today, 49.02 lakh devotees had taken holy dip in the Sangam. Only 7 days left for the Mahakumbh to end. A total of 55.56 crore pilgrims have taken the holy dip in the last 38 days.

Bee Attack at Maha Kumbh

A video of the incident was shared by Dainik Bhaskar on X, shows a swarm of  honey Bees roaming on the heads of people taking bath at the Sangam during Mahakumb. Due to frustration, several devotees also seen coming out of the waters.

In a separate incident on February 15, a swarm of bees attacked tourists at Karnala Bird Sanctuary in Panvel Taluka. A 48-year-old resident of Koparkhairane, Sandeep Sharma, died after falling during the chaos, and his wife, Charu Sharma, sustained injuries from bee stings. The incident occurred around 11 AM.
