A shocking incident of crime has came to light were a chaat shop owner and his employee have been arrested for allegedly murdering the man's estranged wife. This incident occurred in Dwarakanagar, Rajarajeshwarinagar bengaluru. Accussed identified 29-year-old, Virupaksha Gowda resident of Kunigal taluk, Tumakuru district and his 19-year-old employee, Pundalika Janappa Lamani of Gavipuram.
According to TOI reports, deceased identified as Asha S was found hanging at her Dwarakanagar residence around 1.30pm on January 10, 2026. Her elder brother Arun Kumar filed a complaint suspecting foul play, following which police registered a case of unnatural death. A Victoria Hospital postmortem confirmed the death was caused by ligature strangulation. Police registered a murder case on January 14 and arrested Virupaksha and Pundalika. Virupaksha confessed to the murder, detailing his assistant Pundalika's role.
Virupaksha strangled his wife, Asha, with a rope at her home. He then sought Pundalika's assistance to stage her suicide by hanging her body from a ceiling fan. Both men were produced in court on January 15 and remanded to eight days of police custody. Asha and Virupaksha married six years prior after a love affair, but Asha had filed for divorce; the next hearing was scheduled for January 27. They had no children.
