Bengaluru (Karnataka) [India], April 2 : A tragic incident was reported from Bengaluru, where a woman allegedly died by suicide after the death of her 11-month-old son at their residence under the Chandralayout Police Station limits.

A case has been registered at Chandralayout Police Station in the Byraveshwarnagar area of the city. The case has been recorded under UDR No. 17/2026, and Section 194 (3) (iv) of the BNSS Act, and investigation is currently underway.

According to police, the complaint filed by the father (32), who works as an engineer working in a private firm in Peenya, had been residing at the said address for the past four years with his wife and their infant son. His wife was employed with a private company and worked from home.

On April 1, at around 9 am, the father left for work while his wife and child were at home. Upon returning at around 6:30 pm, he found the door locked from the inside. Despite repeated knocking and calls to his wife's mobile phone, there was no response. He then used a spare key kept near a window to enter the house.

Inside, he found his wife unresponsive, while the child was lying on the bed. A handwritten note recovered from the scene stated: "My son fell into the water and died. I could not save him. I am sorry." An empty strip of tablets was also found at the spot.

The complainant has expressed doubts regarding the circumstances of the deaths and has sought legal action.

Police said further action will be taken based on the outcome of the investigation.
