Bengaluru Power Cut: Several Areas to Face Outage for 3 Days Till March 25; Check Affected Locations

The Bangalore Electricity Supply Company Limited (BESCOM) has announced scheduled power outages of up to nine hours in several regions of Karnataka between March 22 and March 25 due to maintenance and infrastructure work on key electricity lines. According to BESCOM, the power interruptions will mainly affect areas outside Bengaluru, including parts of Chitradurga and Kyasamballi.

Power Cuts on March 22

On March 22, power supply may remain disrupted from 10 am to 3 pm as BESCOM undertakes line work on the 66/11 kV routes connecting Chitradurga city to Amritapura Railway Station. The work will cover the H.D. Pura, Godabanahal, Chithrahalli, Arasanaghatta and Chikkajajuru lines.

Several villages and localities are expected to be affected, including H.D. Pura, Talya Kavalu, Upparigenahalli, Budipura, Nallikatte, Talya, Muttighatta, Kereyagalahalli, Tekalavatti, B.R. Gudi, Chamundeshwari, Mahadevanakatte, Doddapura, Kakkeru, Hosuru, Junjappamarga, Godabanahal, Annehalu, Vajramarga, Echanghatta, T. Nulenuru, B. Jihalli, Chithrahalli, Mudderu, Shivaganga, Lingadahalli, Keshavapura, Dasayyanahatti and Kondapura.

Power supply could also be affected in nearby areas around Anjaneya Temple, Basaveshwara Temple, Mekenahatti, Katayyanakere and Narasimhaswamy Temple (Garaga).

Additional areas such as Arasanaghatta, Garaga Kavalu, Sadarahalli, Chikkandavadi, Karematthi, Chikkanakatte, Chikkahemmiganuru, K.N. Halli, Thanigehalli, Hirekandavadi, Gunjiganuru, Rangavvanahalli, B. Durga, Ayyanahalli, Kaduru, Kotehalu, S.H. Halli, Kavalahatti, Hosahalli and Saveramma, along with surrounding villages, may also face temporary outages.

Power Cuts From March 23 to March 25

From March 23 to March 25, BESCOM has scheduled a longer power outage from 9 am to 6 pm to carry out reconductoring feeder work in the Kyasamballi branch of the Bethamangala sub-division.

Electricity supply could be disrupted in areas connected to the F-02, F-03, F-04, F-11 and F-12 feeders. Villages likely to be affected include Kyasamballi, Parandahalli, Dodda Ponandahalli, Chikka Ponandahalli, Balla, Guttahalli, parts of Kamasamudram, Nallur, Ramasandra and Sundarapalya, along with nearby rural areas.

BESCOM stated that power supply for agricultural pump sets will be restored during nighttime to ensure that farming activities are not significantly affected.
