Bengaluru Rains: A spell of heavy rain accompanied by strong winds, thunderstorms and hailstorms brought relief to Bengaluru on Wednesday after days of intense summer heat. The sudden change in weather led to a sharp drop in temperatures across the city, offering respite to residents who had been grappling with scorching conditions.

The downpour affected several parts of Bengaluru, including Town Hall, KR Market, Corporation Circle, JC Road, Shanthinagar, Lalbagh, Cubbon Park, Majestic, Mysore Bank Circle, Shivananda Circle, Vidhana Soudha and MG Road. Rain activity was also reported in areas around Halasuru Gate. In many locations, the rain was accompanied by thunderstorms and gusty winds, while hailstorms were reported in parts of the city, surprising residents. Some areas witnessed large hailstones, an unusual occurrence during this period.

While rainfall intensity varied across Bengaluru, with a few areas receiving only light showers, the overall impact was significant. The showers helped ease the prevailing heat but also caused disruption to daily life. Commuters faced difficulties navigating rain-hit roads, as strong winds and sudden showers affected movement across the city.

The India Meteorological Department has forecast continued rainfall in Bengaluru over the next four days as part of the pre-monsoon thunderstorm phase. Residents are advised to remain cautious, particularly during evening hours, due to the likelihood of further rain, strong winds and occasional hail.
