A shocking incident of sexual abuse has come to light in Bengaluru, where a badminton coach got arrested for allegedly raping 16-year-old girl who he used to train. The family came to know when girl's grandmother found that the minor had sent some of her nude pictures from her phone to an unknown number and she immediately alerted her parents, they said. Upon confronting her mother came to know, that the girl revealed that the coach had sexually abused her multiple times under the guise of giving her additional training sessions and warned her against disclosing about it to anyone, police said.
As per the police complaint, a minor girl was sexually abused and harassed by her badminton coach at a local sports center over a two-year period. The coach allegedly took her to his residence where he sexually assaulted her. The complainant, the girl's mother, further stated that on March 30, the girl, at the coach's insistence, sent him nude photos from her grandmother's phone after completing her class 10 exams.
A senior police officer stated that the coach, originally from Tamil Nadu, was arrested on Thursday under the POCSO Act. During interrogation, he confessed to the abuse and to possessing nude photos of the victim, which were found on his phone along with nude photos of other girls.
