On Tuesday, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi expressed that the residents of Nagaland should experience a sense of equality with the rest of the country, notwithstanding their origin from a small state. Addressing a rally in the heart of Nagaland’s capital Kohima, as part of his Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra, he said the idea of the march is to give justice to the people and to “make politics, society and the economic structure more equal and accessible to everyone.

During his visit, Rahul Gandhi paid tribute at the Kohima War Cemetery to honor those who made the ultimate sacrifice during World War II. Emphasizing the idea behind the Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra, he conveyed the message that regardless of being from a smaller state, individuals from Nagaland should feel a sense of equality with people from all across the country.

To give justice to the people, to make politics, society, and the economic structure more equal & accessible to everyone, Gandhi said. Gandhi, who embarked on the Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra from Manipur on January 14, reached Nagaland on Monday evening. Speaking at another rally held at the High School Junction, Rahul Gandhi highlighted that the Congress had previously organized the Bharat Jodo Yatra spanning from South India to Kashmir. The objective was to unite diverse cultures, religions, and languages across the nation.

We started from Manipur and now crossing Nagaland. It’s a lovely experience. Thank you for all the affection. Jai Hind, he said.
