Darbhanga, Bihar (March 10, 2025): A 15-year-old boy died while playing cricket in Mahisari village in Bihar’s Darbhanga district. The teenager, Ashish Paswan, collapsed after colliding with another player while attempting to take a catch. He suffered severe chest pain and was rushed to a hospital for treatment but did not survive.

Ashish was an eighth-grade student staying with his grandfather for his studies. His father, Rakesh Paswan, works as a laborer in Bengaluru.

According to the reports, the incident happened on a local cricket ground when Ashish, who was bowling, ran to take a catch. At the same time, a fielder at the point position also moved toward the ball, leading to a collision. Ashish fell to the ground and was taken to a nearby doctor for immediate treatment. Despite receiving an injection, his condition worsened, and he died soon after.

Ashish was originally from Kodai Deh village in Muzaffarpur district. He had been reportedly living with his grandfather in Mahisari to continue his education.  Ashish was the eldest of three siblings. His mother is in critical condition due to shock. The family remains devastated by the loss.
