Two women died, and more than six others were seriously injured after a Bolero pickup carrying pilgrims returning from the Mahakumbh collided with a parked truck on National Highway 2 near Ghorghat in the Shivsagar police station area on Wednesday. 

The victims were returning from returning from the Maha Kumbh in Prayagraj after taking a holy dip. According to reports, the injured were taken to Sadar Hospital in Sasaram. Later, six of them were referred to Varanasi for advanced treatment. The deceased have been identified as residents of West Bengal’s 24 Parganas district.

Local residents and emergency responders rushed to the scene to assist the victims. The accident led to disruptions on the highway as authorities worked to clear the wreckage. Police have launched an investigation into the cause of the collision.
