A woman in Vaishali district, Bihar, has been arrested for the brutal murder of her husband. Priyanka Devi attacked her husband, Mithilesh Paswan (35), with a knife, targeting his private parts, and then struck him on the head with a brick. The incident occurred in Bhatauli village, under the Kartaha police station area. According to police reports, the couple had a heated argument on Holi day over a phone conversation. Priyanka was allegedly speaking with her lover, which Mithilesh objected to. The argument escalated, and in a fit of rage, Priyanka attacked Mithilesh.

"On the occasion of Holi, a dispute arose between the husband and wife over some issue," stated SDPO Gopal Mandal. "The wife attacked her husband with a knife on his private parts and hit his head with a brick. He died during treatment at the hospital. The accused wife has been taken into custody, and she has admitted to killing her husband. The police are further investigating the matter."Mithilesh was rushed to Lalganj Referral Hospital, but doctors pronounced him dead upon arrival. Priyanka Devi was subsequently arrested. The body was sent for a post-mortem examination at Sadar Hospital.

The deceased’s sister-in-law (bhabhi) provided a detailed account of the incident. "When Mithilesh came home after playing with colors, he and his wife began arguing. Hearing the commotion, I stepped outside and saw them fighting. When I asked about the reason for the quarrel, neither of them told me anything. After calming them down, I went back to my room." However, the argument reignited. "Later, the argument escalated again, and Priyanka struck Mithilesh on the head with a brick. She then cut his private parts with a knife and locked him in a room. As she attempted to leave the house with her three children, she was brought back. Despite my persistent questioning, Priyanka didn’t tell me what had happened. Much later, she said, 'Your brother-in-law is no more.' When I rushed to the room, it was locked. With the help of local residents, we got him out. He was taken to the hospital for treatment, but the doctor declared him dead. We then informed the police," she recounted.
