Bihar DGP Gupteshwar Pandey is soon going to resign from his post. He has announced to contest the Bihar Assembly elections. As per sourse, it is said that he can be the candidate of NDA. Gupteshwar Pandey will resign after the election notification is issued. DGP Gupteshwar Pandey, who made headlines in the Sushant Singh Rajput death case, had raised many questions over the Mumbai Police's investigation into the actor's death.

The Bihar Assembly elections are due in October-November and the tenure of the current Assembly is scheduled to end on November 29. The Election Commission has not yet taken a final call on poll dates in Bihar due to the coronavirus pandemic.

The Samajwadi Party on Tuesday has announced on Twitter that they will support the candidates of Rashtriya Janata Dal in the upcoming Bihar Assembly election, without forging an alliance with any political party.
