Patna, April 27 The political atmosphere in Begusarai intensified during the observance of Bhamashah Jayanti, as Bihar’s former Deputy Chief Minister Vijay Kumar Sinha attended the event as the chief guest.

While the occasion was meant to honour the legacy of sacrifice, philanthropy and patriotism associated with Bhamashah, it soon turned into a platform for sharp political exchanges.

Addressing the gathering, Sinha urged citizens to imbibe Bhamashah’s spirit of selflessness and dedication towards society and the nation.

He emphasised that the ideals of such a personality continue to inspire and strengthen the country even today.

However, the tone of the event shifted when Sinha launched a scathing attack on the Opposition, particularly targeting the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) and its leadership.

Responding to ongoing criticism of the NDA, he said, “It is not we who should worry about our honour; Tejashwi Yadav and his family should be concerned. We know how to safeguard our dignity.”

His remarks quickly stirred political circles and added fuel to the ongoing war of words in Bihar.

On the issue of corruption, Sinha reiterated that the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) government remains committed to zero tolerance.

He asserted that strict action would be taken wherever irregularities are found, stressing that no individual is above the law.

Addressing a query about the reinstatement of a suspended Circle Officer, he ruled out any possibility of leniency.

Touching upon leadership within the state, Sinha also referred to Deputy Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary, stating that party directives and organisational discipline remain paramount, and that the NDA-led government is functioning with stability and strength.

Meanwhile, Union Minister Giriraj Singh also drew attention with his remarks at the event.

Referring to the political climate in West Bengal, he criticised West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, accusing her of patronising “external elements (intruders)”, and called for the emergence of courageous and benevolent individuals like Bhamashah to safeguard the nation and society.

What began as a tribute to a historic figure ultimately evolved into a platform for political confrontation, with strong statements and counter-statements turning the event into a focal point of Bihar’s intensifying political discourse.
