In a shocking vehicular accident at least 13 people died and 30 other injured after bus, truck and van collusion in Katihar district of Bihar. The tragedy occurred on Saturday evening on NH-31 in Kodha block of Katihar under the jurisdiction of the Korha Police Station, prompting an immediate rescue operation by local authorities and police.
Following the accident, injured have been taken to a government hospital in neighbouring Purnea district. Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar announced ₹2 lakh ex-gratia from the CM's relief fund to the families of each deceased and ₹50,000 to each injured person.
Police are still investigating the cause of the accident, but initial reports indicate the bus driver lost control.
