A tragic road accident in Bihar claimed the lives of three cousins, including the deputy head of Jhitkahiya village, after a high-speed Scorpio crashed into a tree late at night. The incident occurred near Mahadeva Masan Chowk on the Ghorasahan-Dhaka road in Motihari. According to preliminary reports, the vehicle was moving at excessive speed when the driver lost control and rammed into a roadside tree with tremendous force. The impact left the SUV badly mangled and the occupants critically injured, turning what was meant to be a routine return journey into a devastating tragedy for the family.

Police teams rushed to the spot immediately after receiving information about the crash and shifted the injured victims to a nearby hospital for emergency treatment. However, doctors declared all three brought dead on arrival. Officials confirmed that the deceased were residents of the Rajepur police station area and belonged to the same extended family. The sudden death of the deputy head of Jhitkahiya has sent shockwaves across the village, with locals expressing grief over the untimely loss. The bodies have been sent for post-mortem examination as part of the legal formalities.

Family members said the three cousins had left home a day earlier to attend a wedding and were returning when the accident took place. Ajay Kumar, brother of one of the deceased, recounted the heartbreaking moment the family learned about the incident. “They left the house yesterday to attend a wedding. Later, the police called to inform us that he had met with an accident. We rushed to the hospital…” he said, describing the shock and disbelief that gripped the family upon hearing the news.

Meanwhile, the driver of the Scorpio reportedly fled the scene immediately after the collision, raising serious questions about accountability. Police have launched a search operation to trace and arrest the absconding driver. Investigators suspect overspeeding may have been the primary cause of the crash, though other angles are also being examined. Authorities stated that further details will emerge after a thorough investigation. The incident has once again highlighted the deadly consequences of reckless driving and the irreversible pain it leaves behind.
