Nalanda, Bihar (April 16, 2024): A man in Bihar’s Nalanda district shot and killed his girlfriend and her mother before attempting to take his own life on Wednesday. The shocking incident took place in Singh Colony under the Silao police station limits.

The accused, Manish Kumar of Chandimau village, allegedly opened fire on Poonam Kumari and her mother Puttus Devi, residents of Singh Colony. Both women died on the spot. After the attack, Manish shot himself in an apparent suicide attempt. He was rushed to Pawapuri Medical College where his condition remains critical.

Police said Manish was reportedly disturbed by the upcoming wedding of Poonam, which was scheduled for April 28. The attack is believed to have been carried out in a fit of rage. The incident has left the local community in shock.

Following the incident, Silao police reached the scene and began an investigation. The bodies of the victims were sent for post-mortem and officers have started questioning local residents for more information.
