On Wednesday, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) strongly condemned the Kashmir Labor Party motion calling it a blatant interference in the internal affair of India.

Department of Foreign Affairs of the BJP said there are elements of "Jihad" within the Labor Party that would damage ties between India and the United Kingdom.

"The motion by @UKLabour On Kashmir is blatant interference in India's internal affairs, far from ground reality n reflection of supremacist attitude. We strongly condemn it. Labor supporters of jihadi elements will damage India-UK ties," tweeted Dr Vijay Chauthaiwale, In-charge, Department of Foreign Affairs, BJP.

The Labor Motion explicitly states, "While we have met here, Pakistan and India are discussing the issue of Kashmir at the United Nations, as there is a major humanitarian crisis in the Kashmir region and there have been several fire exchanges across the Line of Control."

The central government had scrapped Article 370 of the Constitution earlier in August, which gave Jammu and Kashmir special status. The Center also segregated the state into two Union territories — Jammu and Kashmir, and Ladakh.

India has repeatedly stressed that its decision in Jammu and Kashmir to abrogate Article 370 is entirely an internal matter. On the other hand, on the international platform, Pakistan has tried to make an issue out of it.
