New Delhi, Feb 28 Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) General Secretary Anil Jain on Friday lashed out at lyricist Javed Akhtar over his tweet.

Talking about Akhtar's tweet questioning the action against Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) councillor Tahir Hussain, Jain said he should not be considered an intellectual.

Speaking to , Jain said: "I think Javed Akhtar is out of his mind. Things like petrol bombs, catapults were recovered from the rooftop of Tahir Hussain's residence. Everything was recorded in front of the media. Still a person like Javed Akhtar is questioning the action, whereas the whole country is demanding it. Such people should not be considered as intellectuals."

Talking about BJP leader Kapil Mishra's involvement in instigating violence in Delhi, the BJP General Secretary said: "The matter is in the court. Court has asked for the records. I am not defending Kapil Mishra but he said that if people will start sitting on roads it will disturb the daily routines of thousands of people. Why was the road at Jafrabad metro station blocked? People are allowed to protest but not disturb the lifestyle of others."

He accused Congress interim president Sonia Gandhi of making inflammatory statements. He said in her speech from Ramlila Maidan she talked about final war and sacrifice. Why was she talking about sacrifice for a constitutional thing?

Even Rahul Gandhi asked people to come out on the streets. Wasn't that inflammatory? he said.

Jain said people involved in the Delhi violence won't be spared.
