New Delhi, April 26 Political leaders across the country joined citizens in listening to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s monthly radio programme 'Mann Ki Baat', as the 133rd episode drew participation from multiple states, reflecting the programme’s continued national outreach.
Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan listened to the broadcast from his ancestral village, Nalam, in Odisha’s Angul district, where he was accompanied by party leaders, workers, and local villagers.
The gathering highlighted grassroots engagement with the Prime Minister’s address. In West Bengal, Union Minister J.P. Nadda tuned in to the programme at the party office in Bardhaman.
Separately, senior BJP leader Smriti Irani and party spokesperson Pradeep Bhandari also joined party workers at a BJP office in the state to listen to the broadcast.
In Uttarakhand, Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami listened to the programme, while in Chhattisgarh, Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai attended a public listening session in Bhata Gaon along with Assembly Speaker Raman Singh and Minister Kedar Kashyap.
In Uttar Pradesh, Deputy Chief Minister Keshav Prasad Maurya also joined party workers to listen to the 133rd episode, underscoring the widespread participation of political leaders across regions.
During the broadcast, PM Modi highlighted the importance of the upcoming national census, calling it a crucial exercise for the country. He said, “At present, a very important campaign is underway in our country, and every Indian needs to be aware of it. This is the census, the largest census in the world.”
Emphasising citizen participation, he added, “The national census isn't just a government task. It's the responsibility of all of us. Your participation is crucial. The information you provide is completely secure, kept confidential, and protected with digital security.”
The Prime Minister urged people to actively take part in Census 2027, noting that it would be conducted digitally for the first time. The upcoming exercise will be the 16th decennial census and the eighth since independence. Originally scheduled for 2021, it was postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
The Sunday episode of Mann Ki Baat once again saw leaders and citizens come together nationwide, reinforcing the programme’s role as a key platform for public communication and engagement.
