New Delhi, Dec 11 One person has died of stab wounds while two others were injured after they entered into a brawl with another group of youth in the slum area behind the Safdarjung Hospital here, the police said on Friday.

The deceased has been identified as Neeraj and the two injured have been identified as Rakesh and Mukesh, both brothers. According to the MLC report, the deceased was stabbed at least 22 times while Mukesh received 12 stab injuries and Rakesh was stabbed at least five times. They all worked as contractual employees in BVG company and were deployed as sweepers at the Safdarjung Hospital.

According to the police, the incident happened on Wednesday night when the two groups entered into a brawl in an inebriated state. The scuffle started after one group confronted the other over their contractual status.

"We have arrested two men named Krishna and Ravi. A juvenile has also been apprehended in connection with the case. A case of murder and attempt to murder has been registered and legal actions are being taken as per the law," said Ingit Pratap Singh, DCP, South West Delhi.
