The Supreme Court is set to hear a petition tomorrow seeking the cancellation of the NEET-UG 2024 exam over allegations of a paper leak. A vacation bench comprising Justices Vikram Nath and Sandeep Mehta will preside over the matter.

The National Testing Agency (NTA) of the Education Ministry held a press conference on Saturday in response to mounting demands for the annulment of the NEET 2024 results. Concerns were raised over an unusually high number of candidates scoring top marks and securing top ranks. The Director General of the NTA announced that a four-member high-power committee is currently investigating the matter, involving approximately 1,600 candidates from six different centers.

The committee's findings will determine further actions, including the possibility of a re-examination. The controversy, ignited by the NEET-UG results released on June 4, has sparked unrest among medical aspirants and the public, with calls for the exam to be cancelled and a re-test conducted to ensure fairness and integrity in the process.

The NEET-UG is the entrance examination for undergraduate medical courses in India and is considered one of the most competitive exams in the country.
