CBI arrests 2 IT officials, 1 CA in Rajasthan graft case

The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) on Thursday carried out searches at 10 locations in Rajasthan and arrested three persons, including two income-tax department official posted in Nagaur, in a graft case.

Jaipur, March 12 The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) on Thursday carried out searches at 10 locations in Rajasthan and arrested three persons, including two income-tax department official posted in Nagaur, in a graft case.

The CBI arrested I-T officer Laxman Singh and an I-T Inspector Prem Sukh Didel and a Chartered Accountant (CA) Suresh Pareek in a Rs 4 lakh graft case, said a CBI official.

A case had been registered against two I-T officers and the CA for demanding Rs 5 lakh in bribe from the complainant for settling issues arising out of an I-T survey on his business premises and his family members in Nagaur.

The official said following the complaint, the CBI team laid a trap and caught the CA while demanding and accepting the negotiated bribe. Later, two I-T officers were also arrested.

Searches were conducted in Nagaur, Jaipur and Merta City of Rajasthan and incriminating documents were seized.
