The CBI conducted searches at the residence of former Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel on Wednesday morning, March 26. Agency teams swooped down on Baghel's residences in Raipur and Bhilai, as well as the residential premises of a senior police officers Arif Shaikh and Abhishek Pallav, and a close associate Vinod Verma and Bhilai MLA Devendra Yadav.

The agency is tight-lipped about the matter in which the searches are taking place. They seized documents wrapped in white cloth and a black bag. A CBI car was seen leaving with the bundled papers in the front and the bag in the back. Further details are awaited.

Recently, the Enforcement Directorate had conducted searches at Baghel's residence in a connection with an alleged liquor scam case.
