Punjab Police arrested two suspects on Thursday evening for Wednesday's grenade blast outside the BJP office in Chandigarh, Punjab. The arrested suspect from Morinda, identified as Aman Singh alias Bholu and Gurtej Singh of Rattangarh village in Rupnagar district.

Some material found in a yellow envelope was recovered from one suspect. However, the police have not yet confirmed it, reported the news agency IANS. Meanwhile, a separatist group, Babbar Khalsa, had claimed responsibility for the attack, but police have yet to confirm it.

As per the initial investigation by police, a China-made P-86 hand grenade was used in the blast, which was smuggled from Pakistan through a drone. Punjab Police formed multiple teams, including the crime branch, the Operation Cell, and the District Crime Cell, to investigate the case. Several raids were conducted by the police in Punjab, Haryana and Himachal.

According to the initial investigation, the grenade was thrown from a distance of 25 to 30 feet and landed near the main gate of the BJP Headquarters in Chandigarh. At the time of the incident, there were police personnel on duty nearby. Luckily, no one was injured in the attack.
