Amaravati, April 7 Former Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y. S. Jagan Mohan Reddy on Tuesday accused Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu and his friendly media of resorting to propaganda and abuse as they were unable to politically counter his “MAVIGUN” proposal.

The YSR Congress Party chief took to social media to launch a scathing attack on a Telugu media house’s managing director for using derogatory language on the ABN channel.

Jagan Mohan Reddy used the words allegedly uttered by Vemuri Radha Krishna on the channel.

Using such repulsive language and dragging women into political discourse is not criticism; it is a disgraceful and demeaning attack on women that raises serious questions about the kind of partisan journalism being practised,” the former Chief Minister posted.

“We strongly condemn these remarks and emphasise that such statements are a deliberate attempt to insult women and distort public discourse. The real issue is that, unable to counter the “MAVIGUN” proposal politically, Chandrababu Naidu and his aligned media have resorted to diversion, misinformation, propaganda, and abuse,” he said.

Jagan Mohan Reddy recently mooted the MAVIGUN (Machilipatnam, Vijayawada and Guntur) corridor as the state capital in place of Amaravati.

The alleged derogatory remarks on the news channel were made in the context of the proposal.

YSRCP leaders on Tuesday staged a protest at the office of ABN Andhra Jyothi in Hyderabad, demanding action against Radha Krishna.

“We held peaceful protests demanding strict action against Radha Krishna and his unconditional apology. Despite such offensive remarks, our cadre showed restraint and did not resort to violence, demonstrating our commitment to democratic values,” wrote Jagan Mohan Reddy.

The former CM alleged that instead of condemning this disgusting narrative, Chandrababu Naidu, Nara Lokesh and Pawan Kalyan backed and amplified these remarks.

“This reflects their clear misogynistic attitude. We demand immediate action against Radha Krishna and strongly condemn these leaders for supporting such toxic and outrageous utterances,” he added.
