Tirupati, Oct 25 Nara Bhuvaneswari, the wife of former Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister and TDP supremo, N. Chandrababu Naidu, who remains in jail in an alleged corruption case for 47 days, began her 'Nijam Gelavali' (truth should prevail) yatra on Wednesday.

Bhuvaneswari will console the family members of all those who died of shock allegedly due to the illegal arrest and judicial remand of Chandrababu Naidu.

She launched the programme in Chandragiri constituency in Tirupati district by visiting the house of A. Praveen Reddy who died after Naidu’s arrest last month. She consoled his family members and presented them a cheque of Rs 3 lakh.

She also visited the house of K. Chinnappa in Nedragunta village of Pakala mandal. He died of cardiac arrest on October 17 due to shock following Naidu’s arrest.

The party said she will assure the family members of all those who died after Chandrababu Naidu was sent to jail that the TDP will stand by them.

Bhuvaneswari is undertaking this programme as part of the fight against the 'illegal' arrest of Chandrababu Naidu and she will take to the people the political vendetta behind the false cases foisted on him, said the party. She will thank all those who have come onto the road to express solidarity with Chandrababu Naidu.

The former chief minister was arrested by the Crime Investigation Department (CID) on September 9 in the Skill Development Corporation case. Since then he remains in jail.

Bhuvaneswari will participate in the programme in Tirupati on Thursday. The next day she will visit Srikalahasti.

Naidu’s wife on Tuesday worshipped at Tirumala temple and later visited Naravaripalle, the native village of Naidu. She paid tributes to her in-laws at their Samadhi in Naravaripalle.

Before embarking on the ‘Nijam Gelavali’ tour, she offered floral tributes to her late father and TDP founder NTR. She posted on ‘X’ that the legendary leader devoted his life to the betterment of the Telugu community and steadfastly upheld the cause of justice.

“He asked us to always follow the path of truth, no matter how difficult it was. Starting today, I am commencing a journey to meet with and express my heartfelt gratitude to our Telugu family members, particularly the dedicated supporters of Chandrababu Naidu Garu. It's been an agonizing 47 days of unjust imprisonment for a man who, like my father, has dedicated his life to the welfare and upliftment of the Telugu community,” she stated.
