Several commuters, who were stuck at the Delhi-Ghaziabad border, expressed frustration over the confusing processes they are subjected to for entering Uttar Pradesh amid the coronavirus lockdown.

The border has been sealed by the administration after Ghaziabad witnessed an increase of ten COVID-19 cases recently.

"I have shown my pass but the authorities are not allowing me to cross the border," said Parul Bhati, an employee of Central Board of Indirect Taxes & Customs, who was stuck at the Delhi-Ghaziabad border near Ghazipur.

On Tuesday morning, the police deployed at the check post halted vehicles to check e-passes before allowing anyone to pass, which led to traffic snarls at the border.

A couple of days back, the district administration had issued an order saying, "In Ghaziabad district, there is an increase in the number of coronavirus cases in the last few days. A large chunk of these cases is linked to those who travel between Delhi and Ghaziabad. Hence, on the recommendations of the Chief Medical Officer, the district administration has decided to seal the Delhi-Ghaziabad border until further orders."
