An air-conditioning unit fitted to a milk-transporting lorry exploded in the early hours of Monday, February 16, near the Ashoka Pillar in Chennai, which has crated traffic jam in the area. However, no injuries were reported in the following incident.
The vehicle was travelling through the busy junction when the AC unit of a milk-transporting lorry exploded, due to which a large number of milk crates spread on the road led to burst milk packets flowing on the busy lane.
The explosion was confined to the cooling unit, which is used to maintain the temperature of milk containers during transport. There was no fire, and the vehicle sustained damage.
