A schoolboy who was electrocuted after stepping on a live wire submerged in rainwater was rescued by a passerby in Chennai’s Arumbakkam area. The dramatic incident was caught on CCTV and is now going viral on social media. The incident occurred amid heavy rains in the city. According to reports, the boy, a student of Class 3, was returning home from school when he accidentally stepped on a broken electric wire hidden under water. He received a severe electric shock and began crying for help.

Despite a crowd forming around the scene, no one dared to approach the boy. Many were seen filming the incident on their phones instead of stepping in to help.

That’s when Kannan, a local youth passing by on his two-wheeler, noticed the boy struggling. At first, he assumed the child had slipped and fallen. But as he got closer, he realized the boy’s body was trembling from electric shocks.

Without hesitation, Kannan jumped into the water and pulled the boy out, even though he himself felt mild shocks during the rescue. His quick action saved the boy’s life.
