A huge fire broke out at transformers kept near the power company's substation in Raigarh district of Chhattisgarh on Monday afternoon, March 17. According to the news agency ANI, the blaze spread to nearby failed transformers. However, fire tenders reached the spot within 20 minutes after the incident and struggled to douse the blaze due to the presence of inflammable elements.

Power department executive engineer Gunjan Sharma said, "All fire tenders reached the spot within 10-20 minutes and due to the presence of inflammable elements, the fire spread rapidly... The fire was caught by all the failed transformers. The reason behind the fire is still not clear."

Fire at Store Room of Chhattisgarh State Electricity Distribution Company in Raigarh

A video shared by the news agency ANI shows huge clouds of black smoke coming out from the substation. No injuries or casualties have been reported yet.

According to the initial information, the blaze erupted at around 9 am on Monday in a store room of Chhattisgarh State Electricity Distribution Company Limited located near Kotra Road in Raigarh district. The reason for blaze is still under investigation.
