The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has once again asserted its dominance in Chhattisgarh by securing a majority in municipal corporations, Nikay Chunav, and nagar panchayats. Mirroring the outcome of the assembly elections, Congress suffered a significant defeat across the state. The results indicate that the BJP has firmly established its presence at every level of governance. However, the party faced a setback in Vishnu Dev Sai’s home constituency, Kunkuri Nagar Panchayat.

State Assembly Speaker Raman Singh said, "In the urban body elections, a significant victory has been achieved, but I would like to mention that Congress had created a hat-trick for their defeat. They lost badly in the Vidhan Sabha elections, then again in the Lok Sabha, and now for the third time in the urban body elections. The people have consistently rejected Congress..."

Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai expressed gratitude to the voters in a post on X (formerly known as Twitter). "BJP is heading towards a historic victory in the urban body elections of the state. I am grateful to the voters of the state for this unprecedented mandate. The way the hardworking workers of BJP took the achievements of the double engine government to the people, the way the organization participated in this election under an efficient strategy, this decisive lead is theirs. The public trust that increased due to the work of the BJP government is seen turning into a mandate. We will work with more enthusiasm and do our utmost to live up to the expectations of the people. Thanks again."

In a surprising outcome, the Congress won the Kunkuri Nagar Panchayat, the home constituency of CM Vishnu Deo Sai. Congress candidate Vinaysheel Gupta defeated BJP’s Sudbal Ram Yadav by 81 votes.

Chhattisgarh Assembly Speaker Raman Singh stated that the BJP is leading in 10 municipalities and is likely to secure 80% of the seats in Raipur Corporation. The party also secured a major victory in Ambikapur, where BJP mayoral candidate Manjusha Bhagat defeated Congress’ Ajay Tirkey by 5,000 votes. Ambikapur recorded a 63.2% voter turnout, with BJP winning over 30 out of 48 wards.

Former CM Bhupesh Baghel criticised the BJP’s loss in Kunkuri, calling it a "BJP's defeat in Kunkuri, the assembly constituency of Chief Minister Vishnudev Sai ji, is the defeat of his so-called "good governance". People have lost faith in the “guarantees” of empty promises. Congratulations to all the Congress workers including the newly elected President of Kunkuri Nagar Panchayat, Vinaysheel Gupta."

Winning Municipality President Candidate, Vijay Sinha said, "In Nagar Palika, many works have been stalled, and completing them is a priority. Water is a major issue, and we will work on that. In the next six months, you will see significant progress in the city's development..."

Following the landslide victory, BJP workers in Raipur celebrated by distributing sweets at the party office. The results reaffirm the BJP’s growing influence at the grassroots level, while the Congress continues to lose ground in Chhattisgarh.
