New Delhi, Nov 3 A head constable of the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF), posted at the Indira Gandhi Memorial Museum here succumbed to burn injuries on Tuesday, police said.

The CISF man was injured while trying to cook food on a heater.

"On Monday around 10 p.m. a PCR call was received at the Tughlaq road police station that one CISF jawan on duty at the Indira Gandhi Museum had caught fire and a PCR Van was shifting him to the Safdarjung Hospital. The man was in critical condition," said the police.

The police reached the spot and found that 'one Head Constable of CISF, Alok Kumar aged, 43 years, who was on duty in Morcha No. 2 in IGM Safdarjung Road had caught fire'. Kumar hailed from the Ambatalia village of Raigarh district in Chhattisgarh.

"On inspection of the spot, it was confirmed that the victim caught fire from the heater kept in the 'morcha' (post) while warming his food. In the hospital, the doctors declared him 60 per cent burnt and unfit for a statement. On Tuesday morning, he expired in the hospital while receiving treatment," said a senior police officer.
