A dispute over a game of cricket on Sunday, snowballed into a clash between two groups on Monday in a village in Uttar Pradesh's Aligarh, police said.

According to SP City Abhishek, the dispute between two groups took place on Sunday during a game of cricket in Kishanpur village under Quarsi police circle. The matter had been resolved after the intervention of elders.However, on Monday morning, a boy belonging to one group came out and reportedly started abusing the other group members who then came out in sizeable number and the clash took place.

The SP City said that the matter was under investigation and the FIR was in the process of being filed.

Additional forces have been deployed in the area.
