Bhubaneswar, May 14 Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi on Thursday directed that the celebrations marking the Bharatiya Janata Party-led state government's completion of two years in office be observed in a low-key manner in view of the prevailing situation arising from the conflict in West Asia.

A preparatory meeting regarding the celebration of the state government's completion of two years in office was held under the chairmanship of Chief Minister Majhi at Lok Seva Bhavan in Bhubaneswar.

During the preparatory meeting, Chief Minister Majhi instructed that the celebrations will be observed in a simple and subdued manner as the entire country is passing through a challenging phase due to current situation in West Asia.

According to the Chief Minister's Office (CMO), CM Majhi also emphasised that greater emphasis should be placed on highlighting the state government's achievements over the past two years instead of organising large-scale events to celebrate the occasion.

It was also decided that the state government's achievements will be publicised through print, electronic and social media platforms, along with the publication of booklets.

During the preparatory meeting, the participants also emphasised the need to showcase how common people are benefiting due to various welfare schemes implemented by the Odisha government.

The Odisha government's second anniversary will be celebrated on June 12.

Meanwhile, different programmes will be organised at both the state and district levels from June 12 to 21.

"Based on the achievements of various departments, programmes will be conducted under seven themes, 'Shakti Odisha', 'Samruddha Krushi Odisha', 'Sustha Odisha', 'Nirmana Odisha', 'Utkarsha Odisha', 'Janashakti Odisha' and 'Kaushala Odisha'. In addition, the government's goals and vision for the period from 2026 to 2036 will also be incorporated into these programmes," the CMO said.

The Chief Minister also said that Ministers of each department will hold press conferences to highlight the achievements of their respective departments during the past two years and will also publish leaflets and booklets detailing departmental successes.

Chief Minister Majhi added that through these initiatives, the state government would be able to effectively communicate its vision for the prosperity of the state and the welfare of the common people.

The meeting was also attended by Deputy Chief Minister Kanak Vardhan Singh Deo, Deputy Chief Minister Pravati Parida, Revenue and Disaster Management Minister Suresh Pujari, Law Minister Prithiviraj Harichandan, etc.
