The Congress party has unveiled another list of candidates for the upcoming Lok Sabha Election 2024, revealing that Rahul Gandhi will once again contest from Raebareli, while Kishori Lal Sharma will vie for the Amethi seat. The Congress released the list of the two candidates on May 3,the last date of filing of nominations for the two seats.

The two seats that will go to polls in the fifth phase of Lok Sabha Election on May 20.  A victory for Gandhi in both Raebareli and Wayanad could lead to a conundrum for the party, since he would have to vacate one of two seats which have equal claims on him. Both Amethi and Raebareli have been Congress bastions. Rahul Gandhi lost the 2019 Lok Sabha elections from Amethi to BJP leader and Union Minister Smriti Irani. Both Rahul Gandhi and KL Sharma will file their nominations today, the last day for the same. Elections in Amethi and Raebareli will be held on May 20 in the fifth round of the seven-phase process.
