Corona under control in Chhattisgarh, only 1% fatality rate, says Bhupesh Baghel

New Delhi, Nov 24 In the meeting chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel said the Covid-19 situation in the state is under control. Every day 23,000 screening tests are being done and the state reported one per cent fatality rate in October- November.

"There were no cases of Covid infection in rural areas earlier, but later a few cases were reported. But healthcare workers have done commendable work for prevention of infection," Baghel said in the meeting.

In the meeting, measures taken for prevention of Covid-19 infection in various states of the country were reviewed, along with an action plan for distribution of the vaccination when it comes.

Baghel said the number of beds with oxygen facility and ICU beds has been increased in Chhattisgarh. All the medical colleges in the state have RTPCR facility. Four new labs have been established for testing. Since October, the number of new cases has gradually declined.

Baghel said that in the month of July there were 4 per cent positive cases in the state, 8 per cent in August, 15 per cent in September, 10.5 per cent in October and 7 per cent in November.

The death rate was one per cent in October-November, 2020.

The Chief Minister said that initially there were very few cases of Corona in Chhattisgarh, but as people started from other states began to come, the number of cases increased significantly.
