COVID-19: Public swimming pools closed in Delhi till March 31

The Delhi government has announced shutting down of all the public swimming pools in the national capital till March 31 in the wake of the COVID-19 outbreak.

New Delhi, March 13 The Delhi government has announced shutting down of all the public swimming pools in the national capital till March 31 in the wake of the COVID-19 outbreak.

In an order dated March 12, the Delhi Health Department made the announcement.

The purpose of closing the pools was "surveillance, prevention and control of the outbreak of the epidemic, COVID-19", the order said.

Along with pools, all educational institutions, cinema halls and public swimming pools have also been closed in Delhi till March 31.

On Thursday, the Delhi government has declared coronavirus an "epidemic" after six cases were reported in Delhi.
