Union Minister Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi on Tuesday said that it has been the way of Opposition to create confusion and mislead the people.

Speaking on the issue of farmers protest against the new agriculture laws, Naqvi said, "We have no complaints from farmers, but unfortunately there is a syndicate of criminal conspirators that tries to paint in a bad way the good work done by PM Modiji. You can see the history of the past 6 years how Modiji worked for all the sections of society, for development, economic progress, and security of the country. Did they support any work?"

"To create confusion, mislead people of the country and do conspiracy to defame the image of the country, this has been their way," Naqvi said.

"These parties during their own rule have supported this kind of law whether it is Congress, Left, NCP, Akali Dal, TMC, SP, etc. The problem is that they mislead people and then enter into the protest and also close the way out for those who want to get out of the protest. They are doing politics om the back of farmers," he added.

Opposition parties except for Trinamool Congress (TMC) have lent their support to ''Bharat Bandh'' on December 8 called by farmers' unions in protest against the new farm laws introduced by the central government.

Thousands of farmers have been protesting on different borders of the national capital since November 26 against the three newly enacted farm laws--Farmers' Produce Trade and Commerce (Promotion and Facilitation) Act, 2020, the Farmers (Empowerment and Protection) Agreement on Price Assurance and Farm Services Act, 2020, and the Essential Commodities (Amendment) Act, 2020.

Leaders of farmer groups have held several rounds of talks with the government but all of them remained inconclusive so far. After the fifth round of talks, Union Agriculture Minister Narendra Singh Tomar has called another meeting on December 9.
