CRPF trooper hurt in Naxal attack dies

Of the six Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) troopers injured in the February 10 Naxalite attack in Bijapur, Chhattisgarh, Ajit Kumar Singh succumbed to injuries at Narayana Hospital, here on Tuesday.

Raipur, Feb 18 Of the six Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) troopers injured in the February 10 Naxalite attack in Bijapur, Chhattisgarh, Ajit Kumar Singh succumbed to injuries at Narayana Hospital, here on Tuesday.

Singh of the CRPF Cobra Battalion had suffered serious injuries on chest, abdomen and spine and was hospitalised in a critical condition. A resident of Alwar in Rajastha, Singh had undergone a surgery on Monday night.

Two troopers were martyred in the attack.

On a tip-off, the CRPF team had gone to Pamhed area of Bijapur but was ambushed in Cherapalli forest. The retaliatory fire one Naxalite was killed.
