DCP Special Cell Pramod Kushwaha, while talking to the media, spoke about the arrest of five people following an encounter in Delhi today morning.
One of the five persons arrested by the police is suspected to be linked with the murder of Shaurya Chakra awardee Balwinder Singh in Punjab, police said.
Balwinder Singh, who had fought against terrorism for years, was shot dead in Punjab's Tarn Taran district in October this year.
The police is identifying the role of the suspect.
The arrested persons include Shabbir Ahmed, Ayub Pathan, Riyaz, Gurjeet Singh and Sukhdeep Singh have alleged linkages with terror groups, police said.

- The three Kashmiris who were arrested can be called Over Ground Workers of Hizbul Mujahideen. They have a set up in Pakistan & their counterparts in PoK. ISI is acting as a glue between the two movements and trying to link the two terror findings
- There are 2 components of this matter. One component is from Kashmir, other is of Punjab gangsters. The Punjab gangster component is involved in target killing & the Kashmir component is involved in drugs, they sell drugs & indulge in terror financing with it.
- This case has no connection with the ongoing farmer's protests at the borders of Delhi.
- This case is being investigated by Punjab Police. Two of the five people, who were arrested today, were involved. They have confessed that the weapons seized today are the same that were used then (for the murder). But this is a matter of investigation.
