Thanking PM Modi, Rekha Gupta said, “That is a great deal of responsibility. I am grateful to PM Modi and the high command of the BJP for believing in me. I promise to carry out my duties with the highest integrity. The fulfilment of all the promises made by our party is my top priority, followed by the cooperation of all 48 MLAs under Modi. I never saw myself being Delhi's chief minister. Every penny that belonged to the people would have to be reported by the previous corrupt government,” reported ANI.

A member of the national executive committee of the BJP Mahila Morcha in Delhi and the general secretary of the party, Rekha Gupta was elected as an MLA from the Shalimar Bagh seat. She started a lot of campaigns for women's and under-represented communities' welfare in these roles.
