The swearing-in ceremony of Delhi's new Chief Minister is expected to take place on February 19 or 20, according to government sources. The legislative party meeting is likely to be held on February 17 or 18. Preparations for government formation in the capital are set to gain momentum after Prime Minister Narendra Modi returns to New Delhi late on Friday.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Home Minister Amit Shah, BJP President JP Nadda, and other top BJP leaders are set to hold a meeting to discuss the government formation in Delhi. Out of the 48 MLAs, 15 names have been shortlisted, from which nine will be selected for the posts of Chief Minister, ministers, and Speaker.

The BJP ended its 27-year wait to return to power in Delhi, winning 48 out of 70 seats as votes were counted on Saturday. AAP secured 22 seats, with key leaders, including Arvind Kejriwal and Manish Sisodia, facing defeat. With no CM face announced before the polls, the BJP has begun high-level meetings to decide the new Chief Minister, with five leaders emerging as key contenders.
