A shocking incident has taken place in Delhi where an elderly woman was chopped into pieces and her body was dumped in a drain by a couple. The couple murdered the old woman and chopped her body into pieces. The couple had loaned Rs 1 lakh from the old woman and was unable to repay the loan, reports said. Both the accused have been arrested by the Delhi Police.
The couple identified as Anil Arya and Kamini decided to kill the elderly woman when she demanded them to return the money. The husband-wife duo first allegedly strangled the woman to death and then chopped her body into several pieces.
Anil Arya works in an event management company. He had taken Rs 1.5 lakh from 75-year-old Kavita. Kavita was demanding the amount back from Anil. So Anil and his wife Kamini plotted to kill Kavita. On June 30, Anil and Kamini went to the old woman's house. He strangled the woman with a rope and killed her.
Anil and Kamini cut the body into several pieces with a knife used to cut vegetables so that the body of the old woman could not be identified. The two packed the bodies into three bags and put them in the car and disposed the body into a gutter near Najafgarh. Some neighbours lodged a complaint with the police after the old woman had not been seen for several days. At that time, it was learned that the couple living next door was missing. Police examined footage of a house right next to the old woman's. It showed Anil and Kamini putting three bags in the car. Police arrested the two from Bareilly in Uttar Pradesh on the basis of mobile location.
"I haven't killed anyone. After killing her, he (husband) tried to kill me & my daughter. He's assaulted me several times," said the wife of accused.
On July 3, we had filed a missing report of an old woman. Later, we filed an abduction case after her neighbours went missing. Accused were living in a rented home. After interrogation, they admitted to murder and disposed the body in Najafgarh, said Santosh Kumar Meena, DCP Dwarka.
