New Delhi [India], Mar 28 : An alleged Hizbul Mujahideen terrorist was on Friday sent to police custody by a special court in Delhi in a case related to Jammu and Kashmir DSP Davinder Singh, who was arrested for allegedly trying to assist terrorists to travel outside the Union Territory.

Singh was earlier brought to the national capital by a Special Cell of Delhi Police from Hira Nagar Jail in Jammu and Kashmir.

Special Judge Gurvinder Pal Singh of Patiala House Court sent Syed Naveed Mushtaq to police custody till April 3.

While seeking 10-day remand, Delhi Police said, that he and the other co-accused were planning to execute terror attacks in the national capital and other parts of the country. Police also alleged that the accused was the commander of Shopian district of Hizbul Mujahideen through his handler based in Pakistan.

Police also submitted that the accused used to chat with other co-accused and militants through various internet platforms, including on the dark web.

According to police, the accused was required to be confronted with Davinder Singh and other co-accused to unearth the conspiracy and role of the accused, to trace the details of financial transaction, to verify and trace other offenders and establish the identity of the main handler.

Davinder Singh was suspended from his service in Jammu and Kashmir Police in January this year after he was arrested for allegedly ferrying two Hizbul Mujahideen terrorists.

Defence Counsel Prashant Prakash opposed the application saying the accused was falsely implicated in the case and was not required to be sent to police custody.

Delhi Police had earlier filed an FIR under Section 120B (criminal conspiracy) of Indian Penal Code (IPC) and alleged that the youths of Jammu and Kashmir and Punjab are being trained for carrying out terrorist activities. The FIR also mentioned of D Company and Chhota Shakeel.

According to the FIR, a Special Cell of Delhi Police had received an input that the D Company is funding pro-Khalistan terrorist orgsations in Punjab.
