A 22-year-old woman and a six-year-old girl were found murdered inside a house in the Majnu Ka Tila area of North Delhi on Tuesday, July 8, 2025. Police suspect the woman's boyfriend carried out the brutal killings before fleeing the scene. According to the media reports, the victims were identified as Sonal, 22, and Yashika, a six-month-old girl. Local residents discovered both lying in a pool of blood and immediately informed the police. Civil Lines police reached the spot and called in the forensic team to begin investigation.

Media reports suggest that Sonal was attacked with a knife multiple times. The infant's throat was also reportedly slit during the incident. The accused was allegedly in a relationship with Sonal. They had a recent argument. After that, Sonal started living with a friend in Majnu Ka Tila. On the day of the incident, Sonal’s friend had gone out to pick up her elder daughter from school. She left the infant with Sonal at home. During this time, the accused reportedly came to the house and attacked both Sonal and the baby with a knife before escaping.

This incident comes shortly after the recent killing of a mother and son in Lajpat Nagar.
