Two dead bodies of a male and a female were found in a river in Delhi's Najafgarh area on Friday afternoon, January 23. As per the preliminary investigation, no injury marks were found on the bodies, and police suggested it may be a case of suicide. 

A cab driver noticed the bodies at around 12 pm on Friday and informed the police at Kakrola Ganda Nala that two bodies, one male and one female, are lying in the nala. After the following information, PS Najafgarh and SI Raj Kumar reached the spot.

Both dead bodies were taken out from the Ganda Nala near Kher Baba Mazar and sent for the post-mortem. The bodies were partially decomposed. Both appeared to be labourers, according to the news agency ANI, citing Delhi Police.

One mobile phone was recovered from the male's dead body. On contacting at the registered mobile number, the deceased's identity was revealed as Munna Lal, aged about 58 years, and Ramvati Devi, aged about 55 years, who were missing since January 17, 2026, from PS Bindapur.
