New Delhi, April 24 Delhi Lt Governor V.K. Saxena on Friday called upon students to become true enablers of change in an era of rapid digital transformation.
Addressing the Annual Day and Prize Distribution Function at Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Khalsa College, Delhi University, Saxena said, “In today’s era of rapid digital transformation, I encourage students to become true enablers of change. While information technology offers immense potential to create meaningful impact, innovation must always be guided by strong values.”
In a post on X, the Lieutenant Governor said, “Delighted to be part of the Annual Day and Prize Distribution Function at Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Khalsa College, Delhi University. An institution is more than just a place of learning -- it is a reflection of values, discipline, and the aspirations of its students.”

On Thursday, the Lieutenant Governor addressed the 100th Annual Day celebrations of Shri Ram College of Commerce (SRCC), reminding students that education must go beyond academics to “foster character, creativity and critical thinking”.
“The strength of any institution lies in its people. The faculty, with their scholarship and dedication, have played a critical role in maintaining academic standards,” he said.
He said institutions of higher education must not only impart knowledge but also cultivate the ability to think creatively, adapt to change, and act with integrity.
“The linkage between knowledge and practice becomes particularly important in fields such as commerce and economics, where theory must constantly engage with evolving realities,” he said.
“In recent years, we have seen new opportunities emerge in areas such as digital finance, entrepreneurship, data analytics, and global trade. At the same time, complex challenges are confronting the world today,” he said.
Preparing students to navigate this environment requires a combination of academic depth, practical exposure, and ethical grounding, he added.
