New Delhi [India], May 19 : A man was allegedly burned alive and killed by his wife and mother-in-law in the Jahangirpuri police station area of the North West district.

The police have taken the mother-daughter duo into custody and have commenced their interrogation.

On May 18, a PCR call regarding a fire incident was received at PS Mahendra Park from A-1649-1650, Jahangirpuri, Delhi. Police staff, along with the SHO, reached the spot and found one person, namely Deepansh Chaudhary, in a burnt condition. He was shifted to BJRM Hospital, where he was declared dead during treatment, police said.

Police said in the inquiry it has been revealed that the deceased and his wife were having matrimonial disputes, and a complaint was earlier made at the CAW Cell.

On the day of the incident, after an altercation, the deceased allegedly threatened to commit suicide and later set himself on fire outside his wife's residence, cops said.

Further inquiry is in progress. Legal action will be taken accordingly, police added.
