A massive fire broke out at Sri Guru Gobind Singh College of Commerce in Delhi's Pitampura on Thursday morning, May 15. After receiving the information, a total of 11 fire tenders rushed to the spot and the fire was brought under control around 9.40 am, said Delhi Fire Services. The blaze erupted at around 8.55 and engulfed the college's first, second and third floors, said DSF. The college is affiliated with the University of Delhi.

According to the information, the fire first erupted in the college library located near the TV Tower in Pitampura, later engulfing the first and second floors of the college. As of now, no injuries or casualties have been reported in the following incident, and a cooling operation is underway. The reason for the fire is still unknown. Further investigation is underway.

Earlier on Wednesday, a massive blaze erupted on the second and third floors of the dental wing of BM Gupta Hospital, a nursing home in Delhi's Uttam Nagar area. The fire started at around 8 p.m. and was brought under control after more than one hour.
After receiving the information 11 fire tenders of Delhi Fire Services rushed to the spot. The fire engulfed in the nurses's hostel on the second floor, which housed accommodations for six nurses, and spread to a portion of the third floor containing medical records. Approximately 15-20 patients and 20 staff members were present at the time of the fire and were safely evacuated. No injuries or casualties have been reported.
