In significant move to enhance the connectivity, the Delhi govt and Noida international airport authorities have Signed MOU (Memorandum of Understanding) to start the air-conditioned electric buses between Delhi and the upcoming Jewar airport.  This initiative will aim to provide a sustainable and comfortable travel option for passengers while reducing dependency on Private Vehicles.

A new electric bus service will connect Delhi to Noida International Airport (approximately 75-85 km) with direct, non-stop routes from three major Delhi pick-up points: Sarai Rohilla, Anand Vihar, and Kamla Market. These electric buses offer eco-friendly and sustainable transport, reducing carbon emissions and promoting green mobility to improve air quality in the region.

Benefits of AC bus

  1. Comfortable and Convenient: Enjoy a fully air-conditioned ride with GPS tracking and live monitoring for safety and punctuality. Direct routes ensure a faster, smoother journey.
  2. Benefits for Women and Differently Abled Passengers: Women travel free under the 'pink passes' scheme. Passes for differently-abled persons will also be applicable, promoting inclusive accessibility.
  3. Affordable Fares: Ticket prices for general passengers will remain competitive, with only a slight increase compared to existing bus services, making it a cost-effective travel option.
  4. Launch and Expansion: A pilot service will first assess demand and optimize routes. Based on passenger feedback, the fleet size and bus frequency may be increased.
  5. DTC's Role: Building on its existing fleet of 200 electric buses and connectivity to IGI Airport, the Delhi Transport Corporation (DTC) reinforces its commitment to sustainable urban mobility with this new initiative.
  6. Impact: The introduction of electric AC buses from Delhi to Noida Airport marks a significant improvement in NCR public transport, enhancing airport connectivity, reducing congestion, and prioritizing environmental sustainability, affordability, and passenger comfort.
