New Delhi, May 12 The Delhi Police said on Tuesday that they have successfully resolved a house theft case just hours after the incident, apprehending the burglar in the process. The police recovered several stolen electronic devices, including Apple products, from the accused’s possession.

According to police, the staff of Police Station Kishangarh arrested the accused, identified as Md. Ashad Anwar, and recovered stolen articles, including an iPhone, iPad, Android mobile phone, Apple wristwatches, a Nikon DSLR camera and other electronic items.

Police said the accused was traced with the help of the live location feature of the stolen Apple devices.

Sharing details of the case, officials said that on May 9, a PCR call regarding a house theft was received at Kishangarh police station in South-West Delhi. The call was assigned to Sub Inspector Vinod Kumar, who, along with Constable Kewenilo, immediately reached the spot and inspected the scene of the crime with the Crime Team of the South-West District.

Subsequently, E-FIR No. 80038020/26 under Section 305 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) was registered at the police station based on the complaint filed by the victim. The complainant informed police that an iPhone, iPad, Android mobile phone, Apple wristwatches, a Nikon DSLR camera and other valuable items had been stolen from her residence.

During the investigation, the complainant shared the live location details of the stolen Apple products with the police team. Acting swiftly on the technical input, the police traced the accused to Shani Bazar in Kishangarh and recovered the stolen property from his possession.

During sustained interrogation, the accused disclosed that he had gone to meet a friend residing in the same building. While coming downstairs, he noticed that the keys had been left in the lock of a room situated on the fifth floor. Taking advantage of the situation, he entered the room and stole mobile phones and other valuable articles.

The accused further revealed that he was unemployed and committed the theft to earn easy money and fulfil his liquor expenses.

Police said further investigation into the case is underway.
